Our Story

The idea for Friendship Flight came about simply out of the character of pilot Bill Signs. He has a burning desire to spread goodwill around the world and as a long time pilot with a love of flying he saw this as a logical connection between the two passions. In 1990 he tried out this idea with a flight to several countries.

Soon, the interest turned into a challenge to undertake difficult flight goals, break records, reenact historical flights... all while still focused on the original goal of spreading goodwill around the globe.
